Michael Hatfield joined Wells in May 2026 as Chief Legal Officer.  With more than 30 years as a strategic partner and advisor to various businesses, including more than 20 of those years with various consumer products organizations. Michael leads the legal team within Wells, seeking to ensure that a risk-appropriate approach is taken to not only protect the organization but also promote its goals and aspirations.

 

Michael joined Wells after having served in various senior legal roles, most recently as the SVP and General Counsel for the Americas region within OFI, a global commodities and food solutions business (part of Olam Group).  Prior to that Michael served as the General Counsel for 1WorldSync, Chief Counsel for Global Business Services with Mondelēz International, and Associate General Counsel for Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

 

Michael holds Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees, both with honors, from Marquette University. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan with a BA in history and political philosophy and studied British History and Comparative Political systems at the Institute of European Studies in London, England.
