Deborah Zago
Chief People & Organization Officer
Deborah Zago joined Wells in September of 2025 as the Chief People and Organization Officer, bringing over 25 years of global human resources experience in the consumer goods industry. In her role at Wells, Deborah is responsible for the strategic leadership of the P&O function, spanning talent acquisition and development, employee and labor relations, total rewards, workforce planning, organizational culture and engagement, and employer branding.
Born and raised in Northern Italy, Deborah began her HR career at Ferrero Italy in May of 2008, initially overseeing HR for several European markets. She subsequently held a series of international leadership roles, reflecting her strong global mindset and adaptability.
Her journey includes key assignments in Sydney, Australia, where she led HR for Ferrero’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, followed by a move to Brussels as Head of HR for the Benelux Business Unit (Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg). In 2019, she relocated to New York to take on the role of Vice President, HR Commercial North America, supporting Ferrero’s strategic expansion in the U.S. market. Most recently, in 2022, she returned to Italy to lead HR for the domestic business unit.
Known for her strategic mindset and people-first leadership style, Deborah is passionate about building inclusive workplace cultures, empowering talent, and aligning people strategies with long-term business goals.
