R&D Team Earns Two Innovation Awards

April 30, 2018 - "We have an amazing Research and Development team that truly enjoys creating new products," shares Dallas Vaughn, Senior Manager, Research and Development.

That R&D team recently placed in the top 3 in two different categories in the International Dairy Foods Association's (IDFA) annual Innovative Ice Cream Flavor Competition. The competition, co-sponsored by Dairy Foods magazine, was held during IDFA’s 2018 Ice Cream Technology Conference in Fort. Myers, Florida, April 10 - 11.

These two Blue Bunny flavors was honored in the following categories:

Most Innovative Ice Cream Flavor:
  • Cookie butter ice cream earns third place. The ice cream features the flavor of a spiced shortbread cookie known as speculoos and includes cinnamon-graham and speculoos-caramel swirls and speculoos cookie dough chunks.
Most Innovative Novelties:
  • Salted Caramel Pecan Load'd Sundae takes second place. Soft vanilla flavored ice cream, salted caramel and fudge swirls, pecan, chocolaty sea salt caramel bunnies in a grab-and-go style container. 
"It is always exciting for the team to receive an award like this while being recognized by fellow members of the ice cream industry for developing top notch new products," adds Vaughn.
